If I could append, I think that a great deal of art is about causing people to "see" and that is an important part of worship and church life. I'm not sure if you thought of this one at all but I know a lot of churches have a "writing" ministry - people who do poetry and other short readings as a part of worship... I have reached out to photographers, graphic artists and videographers but I had not thought about scupltures and paintings. As for your scripture reference have you tried Exodus 31?
