Good thoughts, Drew! I had never thought of things that way before. Could you read through today's post looking at it in more detail and contribute your thoughts?

I've been leading when all of the above happened (add broken guitar strings in there)

The best thing you can do is tactfully halt things, solve the problem and begin again.

The worst thing you can do is pretend something isn't wrong - it not only throws off the congregation, but a stubbornness to stop also leads them to believe that the Worship Leader puts their own needs (to finish the song, to make it sound good) before the corporate worship needs of the church.

I think things breaking is a bonding time with a congregation - through it, we, as worship leaders, own up to the fact that we are human and that things do screw up and that we accept our imperfection.
