Have You Heard of Writeboard?

I might be behind on this one, but recently I was looking for a tool to collaborate for worship planning that would get rid of messy mass emails.  Being as we’re a church plant with no building (yet - but soon!), those of us who plan services are all in different places and need an easy way to communicate that’s constantly up to date.

Writeboard

I discovered writeboard.com, brought to you by 37 signals, the developers of Basecamp and Backpack (the fee-based apps that offer tons more than writeboard).  This handy little free tool allows you to post a document, invite others to be able to edit, view and comment on it, revise the document and subscribe to an RSS feed to see any updates to the document.  It’s been so helpful in worship planning and in other areas for our church.

If you’re looking for a great way to collaborate online, you should definitely check it out.

Living Word Building Process

God is so faithful.  So, so faithful.  He carries us through anything we go through, and our building process is no exception.

For those of you who might be wondering how the process is going, here’s a little update.  Thankfully, Pastor Wade has been teaching on the fact that the church is not the building, but the people: called out of darkness and into God’s marvelous light, raised up as a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a chosen people, a people for God’s own posession to proclaim the excellencies of Him who called them. (I didn’t even look, Pastor, your memorization technique worked!)

We have some bumps in the road as far as our facility goes, but the church is present, the church is alive, and the church is exciting.  I’m glad to be a part of it.  We still might break ground this month, but if not, we’ll go back to the drawing board and possibly break ground this spring.  I’m just so thankful that we are learning, worshiping, serving, caring, teaching and all sorts of other things in the meantime.  It’s so good to know we don’t need a building to follow God.
