{"id":133,"date":"2007-11-14T08:28:53","date_gmt":"2007-11-14T14:28:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/iamanoffering.com\/blog\/2007\/11\/14\/raising-up-new-worship-leaders-helps-deal-with-burnout-2-of-5\/"},"modified":"2008-06-14T16:11:17","modified_gmt":"2008-06-14T22:11:17","slug":"raising-up-new-worship-leaders-helps-deal-with-burnout-2-of-5","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iamanoffering.com\/blog\/raising-up-new-worship-leaders-helps-deal-with-burnout-2-of-5\/","title":{"rendered":"Raising Up New Worship Leaders Helps Deal with Burnout (2 of 5)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>So, how do we deal with the fact that we are by nature selfish and don&#8217;t want to relinquish the recognition that comes from being a worship leader?<\/p>\n<p>First, let&#8217;s recognize that certain recognition is okay, but not in the way you might think.\u00a0  Instead of wanting to be recognized for what you can do, or how you can lead, be recognized for who you are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>You are one who has been purchased by the price of Jesus&#8217; blood on the cross.<\/li>\n<li>You are one in whom the Holy Spirit dwells.<\/li>\n<li>You are part of a holy nation, chosen by God for His own posession, a royal priest and king. (See 1 Peter 2)<\/li>\n<li>You are no longer dead in your sins, but alive in Christ.<\/li>\n<li>You are one who is becoming more and more like Jesus every day.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>When we begin to recognize who we are (especially after realizing who we once were), we realize that we we do doesn&#8217;t matter nearly as much.\u00a0  The things we do are only in gratitude to who we are.\u00a0  Once we realize this concept, our selfishness for recognition goes away because we realized that everything we do is to promote the One who made us who we are.\u00a0  In this way, we are willing to share ministry.<\/p>\n<p>So, how do we deal with fear?\u00a0  More on that later today.<\/p>\n<div id=\"wp_fb_like_button\" style=\"margin:5px 5px 5px 0;float:left;height:50px;\"><script src=\"http:\/\/connect.facebook.net\/en_US\/all.js#xfbml=1\"><\/script><fb:like href=\"https:\/\/iamanoffering.com\/blog\/raising-up-new-worship-leaders-helps-deal-with-burnout-2-of-5\/\" send=\"false\" layout=\"standard\" width=\"595\" show_faces=\"false\" font=\"arial\" action=\"like\" colorscheme=\"light\"><\/fb:like><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>So, how do we deal with the fact that we are by nature selfish and don&#8217;t want to relinquish the recognition that comes from being a worship leader?
