{"id":23,"date":"2006-09-18T12:57:00","date_gmt":"2006-09-18T18:57:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/iamanoffering.com\/blog\/?p=23"},"modified":"2011-03-07T10:43:25","modified_gmt":"2011-03-07T16:43:25","slug":"lip-service","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iamanoffering.com\/blog\/lip-service\/","title":{"rendered":"Lip Service"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Songs from yesterday:<\/p>\n<p>Most High God (a new song off of Worship Leader&#8217;s SongDISCovery)<br \/>\nHosanna (Baloche)<br \/>\nOffering (Baloche)<br \/>\nGive Us Clean Hands (Hall)<br \/>\nBreathing the Breath (Redman)<br \/>\nLord Have Mercy (Merkel)<br \/>\nYour Name (Baloche)<br \/>\nThe Heart of Worship (Redman)<\/p>\n<p>Yesterday brought some new members and a baptism, which is always very exciting.<\/p>\n<p>The music was a bit more subdued, which I think was very fitting.\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/pastorsblog.lordoflifelutheran.org\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Pastor John<\/span><\/a> talked about coming back to the heart of worship.\u00a0 He spoke on Jesus saying &#8220;these people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>How often, as worship leaders, do we do that?\u00a0 I know I am guilty.\u00a0 So many Sundays my heart is focused on whether or not the music is going to go well, whether or not people are going to get &#8220;into&#8221; the music.\u00a0 My lips are singing God&#8217;s praises, but my heart is worrying.\u00a0 Yesterday was a big conviction in that area of my life.<\/p>\n<p>The awesome thing is, yes, I need to work on these problems, but God will give me the strength to do it and I&#8217;m very excited to see where He will lead me.<\/p>\n<p>Let us continue to honor God with a heart of worship, and not give Him just our lip service.<\/p>\n<div id=\"wp_fb_like_button\" style=\"margin:5px 5px 5px 0;float:left;height:50px;\"><script src=\"http:\/\/connect.facebook.net\/en_US\/all.js#xfbml=1\"><\/script><fb:like href=\"https:\/\/iamanoffering.com\/blog\/lip-service\/\" send=\"false\" layout=\"standard\" width=\"595\" show_faces=\"false\" font=\"arial\" action=\"like\" colorscheme=\"light\"><\/fb:like><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Songs from yesterday: Most High God (a new song off of Worship Leader&#8217;s SongDISCovery) Hosanna (Baloche) Offering (Baloche) Give Us Clean Hands (Hall) Breathing the Breath (Redman) Lord Have Mercy (Merkel) Your Name (Baloche) The Heart of Worship (Redman) Yesterday brought some new members and a baptism, which is always very exciting.
