{"id":329,"date":"2009-06-03T20:08:06","date_gmt":"2009-06-04T02:08:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/iamanoffering.com\/blog\/?p=329"},"modified":"2009-06-03T20:08:06","modified_gmt":"2009-06-04T02:08:06","slug":"breaking-radio-silence-long-overdue-update","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iamanoffering.com\/blog\/breaking-radio-silence-long-overdue-update\/","title":{"rendered":"Breaking Radio Silence &#8211; Long Overdue Update"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It&#8217;s been a while.\u00a0 Forgive me for the length of this post &#8211; but I&#8217;d love for you to read the whole thing (partly so that you can know how to continue praying for us, and partly because I am posing a question that I&#8217;d love your thoughts on at the end.)<\/p>\n<h3>Family Update.<\/h3>\n<p>The last few months have been quite the roller coaster ride for our family.\u00a0 Our daughter ended up taking a two-week visit to the hospital, brought on by a stomach virus combined with allergies messing up her system.\u00a0 Turns out she&#8217;s allergic to milk, eggs, and soy.\u00a0 She ended up with an NG (nasal) feeding tube that was extremely difficult to deal with at first.\u00a0 We finally got into the routine of all the extra attention she needed when, of course, things decided to change.<\/p>\n<p>The doc&#8217;s mentioned that they don&#8217;t like to have children go more than three months with an NG tube, and our appointment was fast approaching.\u00a0 My wife and I were fully expecting that she would need surgery to get a permanent tube placed.\u00a0 Much to our shock, the appointment came and the doctor decided to take her feeding tube out!\u00a0 The only catch was that she was getting thrown into deep water and she was either going to sink or swim for the next two weeks.\u00a0 She&#8217;s never been a good eater (one reason for the tube), so we were very concerned.<\/p>\n<p>The first week was a little rough, but at the end of it, things started to look up.\u00a0 She&#8217;s been seeing a speech and an occupational therapist to help her eat better and something they&#8217;re having us try seems to be the perfect trick that she needs.\u00a0 She&#8217;s begun to eat better and our days are becoming much less stressful.\u00a0 Now, the next thing to work on is getting her to calm down for sleep at night.\u00a0 That, coupled with the business of a new job out of town, has been one major reason for me not blogging.<\/p>\n<h3>God is Good<\/h3>\n<p>Through all of this, we have learned to truly trust God, even in doubt and pain.\u00a0 We have learned to not let circumstances determine our emotions.\u00a0 We have learned that God truly has a plan in place, even if we can&#8217;t see it or understand it.<\/p>\n<h3>Moving Forward<\/h3>\n<p>Because of our daughter&#8217;s health issues I&#8217;ve had to take a step back from leadership in worship ministry at our church, as well as not blog nearly as much as I used to (hence the obvious lack of posts lately).\u00a0 I am eager to get back in the blogging community and dive into leadership in worship ministry again.<\/p>\n<p>I have a fantastic new job as a graphic designer that is going really well.\u00a0 However, I really, really miss doing worship ministry at the church.\u00a0 My job is a half hour out of town and our family situation is still a bit demanding.\u00a0 <strong>So here&#8217;s the question: <\/strong>What are some things I can do to help continue to encourage and build the worship ministry at our church that can take five to ten minutes a day?\u00a0 I know you don&#8217;t know our whole situation &#8211; but any thoughts you might have would be helpful.<\/p>\n<div id=\"wp_fb_like_button\" style=\"margin:5px 5px 5px 0;float:left;height:50px;\"><script src=\"http:\/\/connect.facebook.net\/en_US\/all.js#xfbml=1\"><\/script><fb:like href=\"https:\/\/iamanoffering.com\/blog\/breaking-radio-silence-long-overdue-update\/\" send=\"false\" layout=\"standard\" width=\"595\" show_faces=\"false\" font=\"arial\" action=\"like\" colorscheme=\"light\"><\/fb:like><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Even in the midst of trial, doubt, and stress, God&#8217;s faithfulness remains.  Our family has been through some hard times recently.
