{"id":340,"date":"2009-06-11T05:00:10","date_gmt":"2009-06-11T11:00:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/iamanoffering.com\/blog\/?p=340"},"modified":"2011-04-22T15:00:04","modified_gmt":"2011-04-22T21:00:04","slug":"music-review-sovereign-grace-kids-awesome-god","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iamanoffering.com\/blog\/music-review-sovereign-grace-kids-awesome-god\/","title":{"rendered":"Thursday Review &#8211; Sovereign Grace Kids: Awesome God"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/player.vimeo.com\/video\/9451529?title=0&amp;byline=0&amp;portrait=0\" width=\"595\" height=\"446\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>I know, I know.\u00a0 <a title=\"Sovereign Grace Music | Sovereign Grace Kids: To Be Like Jesus\" href=\"http:\/\/www.sovereigngracemusic.org\/albums\/category\/sovereign_grace_music\/to_be_like_jesus\">They&#8217;re already coming out with a new Children&#8217;s worship album<\/a>.\u00a0 However, this album is so good and such a must have for your collection that I have to finally review it.\u00a0 Plus, many of you might be struggling to find quality, <a title=\"Sovereign Grace Music | Awesome God\" href=\"http:\/\/www.sovereigngracemusic.org\/albums\/category\/sovereign_grace_music\/awesome_god\">Biblical music to use for your children&#8217;s ministry<\/a>.\u00a0 <a title=\"Sovereign Grace Music | Sovereign Grace Kids: Awesome God\" href=\"http:\/\/www.sovereigngracemusic.org\/albums\/category\/sovereign_grace_music\/awesome_god\">Here it is<\/a>.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>The album starts out with an upbeat, catchy groove<\/strong> on the song &#8220;Almighty Creator.&#8221;\u00a0 The song speaks of all that God has created, including the fantastic line of the chorus that kids (and adults) can declare: &#8220;You created me to worship You.&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>Several of the songs on this album have the same bluesy, rock groove that &#8220;Almighty Creator&#8221; has, <strong>giving the whole album a fantastic energy that isn&#8217;t cheesy at all<\/strong>.\u00a0 On the flip side, <strong>there are several tender, worshipful, beautiful anthems on the album as well<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>&#8220;Who is like You?&#8221; and &#8220;For You are Holy&#8221; make use of <strong>beautiful melodies and proclaim eternal truths, still while being completely singable<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Probably <strong>the most powerful track on this album, though, is &#8220;The Gospel Song,&#8221;<\/strong> a four-line summary of who God is, what He did through Jesus, and how it affects us, sung beautifully by a child vocalist.<\/li>\n<li>The vocals are another refreshing thing about this album.\u00a0 With many children&#8217;s albums, it can be hard to listen to children&#8217;s voices over and over if they aren&#8217;t quite &#8220;right there.&#8221;\u00a0 <strong>This album offers a wonderful blend of children&#8217;s choirs, middle school soloists, and adult lead vocalists throughout, giving the listener a pleasant experience, full of variety and the pleasure of listening to fantastic singers of every age<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>I would highly recommend this album<\/strong>, first for something to listen to if you have little ones that will fill them with God&#8217;s truth while making them move and dance to wonderful music (I know this firsthand, as I just watched my 18-month old daughter loving this CD in the last week), second for music for your children&#8217;s ministry, and third, as a <strong>great collection of songs that are just plain well-written and great to listen to, whatever age you might be<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<div id=\"wp_fb_like_button\" style=\"margin:5px 5px 5px 0;float:left;height:50px;\"><script src=\"http:\/\/connect.facebook.net\/en_US\/all.js#xfbml=1\"><\/script><fb:like href=\"https:\/\/iamanoffering.com\/blog\/music-review-sovereign-grace-kids-awesome-god\/\" send=\"false\" layout=\"standard\" width=\"595\" show_faces=\"false\" font=\"arial\" action=\"like\" colorscheme=\"light\"><\/fb:like><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>As Sovereign Grace gets ready to release their second Sovereign Grace Kids CD, I finally get around to reviewing their first!
