{"id":391,"date":"2010-06-15T20:09:53","date_gmt":"2010-06-16T02:09:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/iamanoffering.com\/blog\/?p=391"},"modified":"2011-04-21T22:59:59","modified_gmt":"2011-04-22T04:59:59","slug":"theres-organ-in-our-church","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iamanoffering.com\/blog\/theres-organ-in-our-church\/","title":{"rendered":"Sunday Recap &#8211; There&#8217;s an Organ in Our Church!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It&#8217;s been a long time but I wanted to get back into participating in the <a title=\"I am an Offering | Sunday Recap - There's an Organ in Our Church!\" href=\"http:\/\/www.theworshipcommunity.com\/sunday-setlists-99\/\" target=\"_blank\">Sunday Setlist discussion<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Last Sunday was a very fun Sunday for music at <a title=\"Living Word Free Lutheran Church Sioux Falls\" href=\"http:\/\/www.livingwordfreelutheran.org\" target=\"_blank\">Living Word<\/a>. \u00a0We, in effect, had two worship teams; one for the main service and one for special music during the offering (although two people were involved in both.) \u00a0Songs we did were:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>O Worship the King (Tomlin&#8217;s arrangement\/adaptation)<\/li>\n<li>Everlasting God (Brenton Brown)<\/li>\n<li>Prince of Peace \/ You are Holy<\/li>\n<li>Great is Thy Faithfulness<\/li>\n<li>Wonderful, Merciful Savior (special music during offering)<\/li>\n<li>O God, Our Help in Ages Past (traditional)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>It was great to have my lovely wife playing electric violin during Great is Thy Faithfulness and Wonderful, Merciful Savior. \u00a0What&#8217;s also been fun is that we&#8217;ve been trying out an Allen Organ during our worship services. \u00a0When it was first brought up that we were going to be trying out an organ I wasn&#8217;t quite sure how it was going to work as we&#8217;ve been piano-driven for the life of our congregation. \u00a0However, we have several organists in our congregational and there&#8217;s no use not letting them use their skills! \u00a0And, it&#8217;s worked out quite nicely so far.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Twitter | Pastor Wade Mobley - Living Word Free Lutheran Church Sioux Falls\" href=\"http:\/\/www.twitter.com\/wademobley\" target=\"_blank\">Pastor Wade<\/a> gave an awesome message on freedom from bondage and our newest staff member shared her testimony (which really hit home in our family as we&#8217;re dealing with several similar things).<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m looking forward to more days like this &#8211; especially to hear the congregation singing as strongly as they were. \u00a0What an encouragement!<\/p>\n<div id=\"wp_fb_like_button\" style=\"margin:5px 5px 5px 0;float:left;height:50px;\"><script src=\"http:\/\/connect.facebook.net\/en_US\/all.js#xfbml=1\"><\/script><fb:like href=\"https:\/\/iamanoffering.com\/blog\/theres-organ-in-our-church\/\" send=\"false\" layout=\"standard\" width=\"595\" show_faces=\"false\" font=\"arial\" action=\"like\" colorscheme=\"light\"><\/fb:like><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It&#8217;s been a long time but I wanted to get back into participating in the Sunday Setlist discussion.
