{"id":530,"date":"2010-09-16T06:10:04","date_gmt":"2010-09-16T12:10:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/iamanoffering.com\/blog\/?p=530"},"modified":"2011-03-10T20:44:56","modified_gmt":"2011-03-11T02:44:56","slug":"praising-god-through-suffering","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iamanoffering.com\/blog\/praising-god-through-suffering\/","title":{"rendered":"How to be an Offering: Praising God through Suffering"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><!--ac8b16262c884600ad8501fae8be4be4-->I&#8217;ve been reading through the book of Job lately in my personal time with God in the mornings. \u00a0It really is a remarkable book and if you&#8217;ve never read it, I recommend you do so. \u00a0I&#8217;m so thankful that Job&#8217;s plea of &#8220;Oh that my words were written! Oh that they were inscribed in a book!\u00a0Oh that with an iron pen and lead they were engraved in the rock forever!&#8221; was fulfilled so that we could learn from his faith, his experience, and especially God&#8217;s response.<\/p>\n<p>Are you going through a time of trial in your life? \u00a0Do you feel, like Job, that God should just be done with you and are having a hard time understanding why whatever situation your in is being allowed? \u00a0There are some very profound things that we can learn from Job on how to praise and acknowledge God through suffering:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>It&#8217;s okay to grieve, be angry, and question. \u00a0Job asked God many questions, blatantly expressed his anger, but yet did not lose his faith, even after losing almost everything else in his life.<\/li>\n<li>If our faith is steadfast and we are upright and keep God&#8217;s ways, it will be very hard to shake. \u00a0In the midst of all of Job&#8217;s questions, pleas, and cries he speaks these amazing words:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<blockquote><p>For I know that my Redeemer lives, and at the last he will stand upon the earth.\u00a0And after my skin has been thus destroyed, yet in my flesh I shall see God,\u00a0whom I shall see for myself, and my eyes shall behold, and not another.
